Dee. Muslimah. 23 years young.
Lebanese. New Yorker. Student. Aspiring health educator.
Made entirely of flaws, stitched together with good intentions.
Follower of Prophet Muhammad & Ahlul Bayt (pbut).
I blog, I rant, I ramble, I vent, I express, I adore, I love. But I do not sugar coat.

I am also Pro-Palestinian & Anti-Zionism.
Anti-Zionism =/= Hating those who follow Judaism and/or are Israeli. Get it right. ;)

This page is made up of bits and pieces of who I am. I will voice my opinion, you are not obligated to agree or disagree, but if you want to be respected you have to give respect first. This blog has no particular tone or theme to it, it's composed of everything and anything. That's all for now :)

I do not claim ownership over any of the images I post. If you see your photo w|out proper credit & have proof that it is yours, let me know & I will gladly credit you.

I have a religion based question yo!

So I know it’s haram to backbite or say harsh words that may hurt someone such as “god damn you’re ugly”..

..but is it haram if I am thinking it but never say it?

ps* when I say “ugly” it doesn’t always refer to looks, just an example

  1. dreamlivehope answered: If you think it and don’t say it then in that case it isn’t haram, and it isn’t considered as a sin.
  2. ghazalaa answered: I would think that thinking them is better than saying them out loud..lol
  3. i-dont-belong-to-this-life said: In Islam, Anyhing that doesn’t leave ur heart, u won’t be punished 4 it
  4. zeshanhm answered: I feel the same way A LOT. I know that that sorta thinking is self detrimental though, let me know the best answer you get
  5. pearlsofislam said: However, it is thoughts may lead to acting upon them, which is why it’s best to refrain from thinking such. :) (I can try & find the hadith for you if you would like).
  6. pearlsofislam answered: Salaam Dee, according to the hadith about this matter, a thought will not count as a sin if one does not act upon it.
  7. ambitioussurvival answered: I think we should try to avoid such thoughts but we’re only humans. The fact that someone restrains from saying it/acting upon it is great.
  8. 313-hopeful answered: I’ve heard that there’s no sin if the thought comes to your mind but if you entertain the thought then you’re willingly doing so…that’s bad
  9. braceletofnoor said: I guess we’re supposed to try and keep away from it both, mentally and verbally. From my knowledge, it’s not haraam, but then again if we’re striving to be good muslims we shouldn’t think that way because it’s hurting us before anyone else.
  10. poisonfashions answered: haha if you have nothing to say , don’t i guess? As long as it isnt harming someone else , i think….
  11. shazadkhan said: Allah knows best. I’m not too sure, but I’d just guess that.
  12. theglamorai answered: lmaooooo! omg ily
  13. ninaesse answered: From what I’ve heard, your thoughts are your own, you can think what you please, the devil can only play once you’ve voiced your thoughts.
  14. shazadkhan answered: it’s fine to think it, but just be sure it doesn’t become a source of pride, i’d say. they could be thinking the same thing.
  15. akomos answered: I think we’re allowed to think whatever we want in our minds. It’s something that we really can’t control.
  16. sublime-supreme answered: Every sin starts with a thought ;)
